(PhotoXpress) <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Kaj ve povpre&#269;en &#269;lovek o holesterolu? Skoraj ni&#269;esar, razen da ni dober za na&scaron;e zdravje, in da ga je najve&#269; v najbolj&scaron;i hrani. Nekako je povezan z ma&scaron;&#269;obami in mastno hrano ter je nevaren na&scaron;emu krvnemu obtoku in srcu. Poglejmo malo podrobneje povezavo <b>holesterola in hrane<\/b> zakaj je holesterol tako pomemben za na&scaron;e zdravje. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"MsoNormal\">&Scaron;kodljiv in koristen holesterol<\/h2>\n<p>Holesterol je vosku podobna snov, ki ga dobivamo iz dveh virov &ndash; prehrane in iz lastnih teles. &#381;e dejstvo, da ga proizvaja tudi na&scaron;e lastno telo, pove, da holesterol v svojem bistvu ni &scaron;kodljiva snov. Proizvajajo ga na&scaron;e celice, predvsem v jetrih, prena&scaron;a pa se preko krvnega sistema. Je bistvena sestavina celi&#269;nih membran in uravnava njihovo prepustnost, poleg tega je sestavni element &#382;ol&#269;ne kisline, steroidnih hormonov in vitamina D. Pri zdravem &#269;loveku proizvajajo jetra in druge celice na&scaron;ega telesa 75 odstotkov holesterola v krvi, ostalih 25 odstotkov zau&#382;ijemo s hrano.<\/p>\n<p>Holesterol se v na&scaron;ih telesih prena&scaron;a po krvi v obliki posebnih biokemijskih spojin lipoproteinov. Te lipoproteine v povezavi s holesterolom lo&#269;imo na &bdquo;koristen&ldquo; in &bdquo;&scaron;kodljiv holesterol&ldquo;. &Scaron;kodljiv holesterol, to so lipoproteini z majhno gostoto, ki so sestavljeni iz 50 odstotkov holesterola, prena&scaron;a holesterol v celice. Gre za ve&#269;je skupke materiala, ki se lahko v &#382;ilah zataknejo in kopi&#269;ijo. To povzro&#269;a o&#382;enje &#382;il ali celo povzro&#269;i zama&scaron;itev &#382;il &ndash; aterosklerozo. Telo samo proizvaja lipoproteine z majhno gostoto, dobimo pa jih tudi s prehrano, od tod povezava <b>holesterola in hrane.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Lipoproteine z visoko gostoto imenujemo &bdquo;koristen holesterol&ldquo;. Ti prena&scaron;ajo holesterol iz krvnega obtoka v jetra, ter pomagajo proti kopi&#269;enju holesterola na stenah &#382;il. Za zdravo ravnovesje med koristnim in &scaron;kodljivim holesterolom skrbimo z redno telovadbo in pravilno prehrano. Ker &#269;etrtino potreb po holesterolu krijemo s prehranjevanjem, je pomembno razumeti odnos med <b>holesterolom in hrano. <\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"MsoNormal\">Katera hrana zvi&scaron;uje in katera zni&#382;uje raven holesterola?&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<p>S prehrano uravnavamo zau&#382;itje holesterola in proizvodnjo holesterola na&scaron;ih lastnih teles. Holesterol proizvajajo samo celice &#382;ivali in &#269;loveka, zato lahko rastlinska prehrana regulira njegovo proizvodnjo v telesu. Hrana, ki je bogata s holesterolom, predstavlja najve&#269;jo zdravstveno tveganje, saj preobremeni krvni obtok, v katerem se pove&#269;a koncentracija &scaron;kodljivega holesterola. Najbolj o&#269;itna povezava <b>holesterola in hrane<\/b> je pri jedeh bogatih z nasi&#269;enimi ma&scaron;&#269;obami: meso, jajca, mle&#269;ni proizvodi. Nasi&#269;ene ma&scaron;&#269;obe pove&#269;ajo raven holesterola v krvi, tako koristnega kot &scaron;kodljivega.<\/p>\n<p>Po drugi strani pa hrana, ki ima nenasi&#269;ene ma&scaron;&#269;obe, zni&#382;uje raven &scaron;kodljivega holesterola in pove&#269;uje raven koristnega. Gre seveda za rastlinske ma&scaron;&#269;obe, ki ne vsebujejo holesterola. To so razna rastlinska olja, sadje in zelenjava, ter ore&scaron;&#269;ki in semena. Sem &scaron;tejemo tudi pogosto ogla&scaron;evane omega-3 ma&scaron;&#269;obe, ki jih na&scaron;e telo ne more samo sintetizirati. Viri omega-3 ma&scaron;&#269;ob so predvsem ribe, pa tudi le&scaron;niki, lanova semena in soja. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"MsoNormal\">Raziskave o holesterolu&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<p>Raziskave holesterola se posve&#269;ajo predvsem povezavi <b>holesterola in hrane,<\/b> ki poudarjajo nevarnosti mastne hrane in &#382;ivalskih produktov. Vendar kljub dokazom o povezavi <b>holesterola in hrane<\/b> znanstveniki niso povsem razvozlali, kak&scaron;na je vloga holesterola in kak&scaron;en pomen ima prehrana. Vsekakor je popularno mi&scaron;ljenje, da se je treba na vsak na&#269;in izogibati holesterolu v prehrani napa&#269;no, saj ga na&scaron;e telo potrebuje, samo pa ga ne proizvede v zadostnih koli&#269;inah.
